Rail services in Belgium are likely to be affected by a 24-hour national strike in the country next week.

Workers are planning to take industrial action from 10pm on Monday, May 30, to 10pm on Tuesday, May 31.

Eurostar said in a statement: “Services to and from Brussels will be closed to sales while we assess the impact on our services.”

The train operator advised passengers to check its website regularly for more details about any changes to its services between London and Brussels.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office also advised travellers: “You should check local news and transport sites before you travel: Belgian rail, De Liin, MIVB and Eurostar.”
