China Airlines is set to resume flights between Taiwan and London after a five-year absence.

The Taiwan-based carrier has opened reservations for a new route between Taipei and Gatwick starting on December 1, according to aviation website Airline Route.

China Airlines will operate the service four times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) using Airbus A350-900XWB aircraft.

The Skytem member previously flew between Taipei and Heathrow for two years between 2010 and 2012.

The new route will be the only non-stop service from the UK to Taiwan – Eva Air currently flies from Heathrow to Taipei via Bangkok.
