Corporate Travel Management (CTM) has become the first TMC to enable a selection of its customers to access live content from the Qantas Distribution Platform (QDP).
The QDP utilises IATA’s NDC technology standard for connections between airlines, travel agencies and travel technology providers, which enables carriers to provide offers and products that have not always been available through the traditional distribution channels.
CTM says the platform enhances the airline retailing, booking and servicing capabilities for partners such as itself and also delivers greater, more relevant content for clients.
Select customers using CTM’s Lightning online booking tool can access Qantas content from the QDP, which is integrated into the tool’s fare display.
In addition, select clients who are Qantas frequent flyers will be able to access reward and recognition offers when booking eligible Qantas domestic flights.
Through its integration into the QDP, CTM became Level 3 New Distribution Capability - a new system of technology standards to allow the distribution of airfares and ancillaries through third parties which is being developed by airline association IATA with... certified in May 2018.
Laura Ruffles, global COO at CTM, said: “We are delighted to be an early adopter of the QDP, which enhances Qantas’ service offering across a range of channels. CTM is committed to ensuring our customers have seamless access to the best travel content and a rich user experience through our technology, including Lightning. This partnership with Qantas is allowing our flexible technology to interact with the QDP and provide options to our customers that haven’t been possible in the past.”
