Air France begins offering pre-paid flight coupons

Air France B787 Dreamliner

Air France and its regional subsidiary Hop have introduced a new pre-paid travel product called Le Pass.

According to Air France, Le Pass allows frequent travellers to purchase pre-paid coupons ahead of their travel date to lock in a guaranteed, fixed price on economy seats for short and medium-haul flights.

Passengers can choose to purchase between three and 50 return trips across the Air France short and medium-haul network and Hop. Tickets can be issued anywhere from 90 days to two hours before departure and Le Pass can be made valid for up to 12 months.

Passes are available across the airlines’ economy fare types, including Flex, Standard and Light (hand baggage only). Customers can book passes for up to nine people at a time.

Flying Blue and Bluebiz will continue to accrue miles and credits with Le Pass.

Le Pass essentially allows passengers to book flights without knowing their exact date of travel, which could mean locking in lower fares, as prices are locked and customers won’t be charged more if the fare on a specific flight goes up.

The pass is also available on Joon flights and KLM services between Paris CDG and Amsterdam Schiphol, as well as code-share flights operated by Finnair, Austrian, Air Europa, Atlas Global, Flybe, Tarom, Czech Airlines, Croatia Airlines and Bulgaria Air.
