The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has appointed three industry leaders to the volunteer leadership of the 2019 board of directors.

Each year the ACTE Nominations Committee is tasked with developing a candidate slate for board service. Positions up for election this year were the at large board director (a two-year term), Asia region board director and Latin America region board director (each three-year terms).

Joining as at large board director is Alison Taylor, senior VP of global sales and distribution for American Airlines, who brings more than 20 years’ experience in the travel industry. Prior to joining the carrier, Taylor was senior VP of global sales at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. She is based in the US.

Derek Ho, VP of global sales, Asia for Japan Airlines, will take on the role of Asia region board director. Ho is a 39-year airline industry veteran who has held various leadership positions in sales throughout his career. He currently leads the carrier’s corporate sales teams in the region to develop new business, primarily with the global corporate and TMC channels. He is based in Hong Kong.

And finally, Aline Bueno, director of sales and account management for HRS, is joining as Latin America region board director. Bueno has served more than 18 years in the industry in various segments and started her career in corporate travel at companies such as Sao Paulo Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sao Paulo Turismo, Marriott and the Latin American Association of Event Managers and Corporate Travel (ALAGEV). She co-created the Latin American Corporate Travel Experience, the biggest event dedicated to corporate travel in the region. Bueno has also worked for the likes of Argo and SAP Concur, and is based in Brazil.

Lori O’Connell, president of ACTE Global, commented: “As a global organisation, it is vital that the ACTE board has worldwide representation. This month we welcomed three corporate travel leaders to the 2019 ACTE board of directors – all of whom have a finger on the pulse of the industry and the region they represent. We are excited about the perspective and strong leadership these individuals bring to the board to help grow the ACTE community and take ACTE to the next level.”

The board nominations follow the appointment of Leigh Bochicchio as executive director of the organisation.
