Kazakhstan national flag carrier Air Astana has announced it will launch direct flights between Almaty and Mumbai, India on 1 June.

The new route adds to the airline’s existing service to Delhi, which launched in 2004.

On Mondays and Tuesdays, flights will depart Almaty at 0705 and arriving in Mumbai at 1105 local time, with the return service leaving at 1205 and landing at 1655 local time.

On Thursdays and Saturdays, flights will depart at 2210, with the return service leaving at 0310 local time.

Air Astana hinted that it was planning further expansion in Asia last year after it started receiving deliveries of a new fleet of Airbus A321LR aircraft.
