Technology firm Amadeus and online travel agency Travix have extended their partnership with a new global distribution deal.

The partnership will provide Travix’s online website and travel operators in more than 50 markets with access to the content offered by the Amadeus Travel Platform, which uses artificial intelligence to bring personalised content into one integrated solution.

Amadeus says the agreement also marks a milestone in its NDC-X programme, revealing that Travix has had live NDC bookings in production since November last year through the tech firm’s new NDC-enabled Web Services solution.

Travix is currently offering NDC content in Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland alongside traditional content. It can be found through a single search and is displayed in an aggregated way to allow customers to compare fares, according to Amadeus.

Amadeus launched its NDC-X programme in February 2018, bringing together all the NDC activities across the business – as an IT provider and aggregator. Together with several airline and travel agency partners, the company is entering the deployment phase of its NDC-enabled solutions. Travix joined as an NDC-X partner in May last year.

BBT caught up with Amadeus’ head of product and innovation, Clare de Bono, at this year’s Business Travel Show to find out how the programme was evolving one year on.
