Travel managers and TMCs alike gathered at London’s Atmosphere Venues last week to sample a selection of food and wine served on board Star Alliance member airlines at an event in partnership with BBT.

Guests were invited for an exclusive tasting at the venue at the top of Millbank Tower, where they sampled red and white wine from around the world.

Dishes served at the event ranged from jerk chicken and soft herb and chilli butter tempura prawns to caramelised onion and feta cheese filo tartlets. Later on guests sampled bowl food in the form of chicken pad Thai, classic fish and chips, potato gnocchi and traditional steak and chips.

Julie Murphy, chair of the country steering committee, UK and Ireland at Star Alliance, said the organisation is proud to have 25 member airlines flying out of Heathrow Terminal 2 with an enhanced transfer service.

The alliance recently launched its Connection Service initiative at the London hub, which enables airline staff to use software to monitor passengers’ transfer windows so they can take steps to ensure customers reach their connecting flight.

The Star Alliance Navigator mobile app provides alliance-wide flight information and schedules, worldwide lounge locations and airport information, allowing passengers to manage flights with functionalities such as ride requests and weather forecasts.
