Global Travel Management Company: An agency which manages business travel for a company. BCD Travel is due to release the latest version of its TripSource mobile app later this month, promising an “entirely new” platform.
The company says the app has been “built from the ground up” and leverages the latest mobile technology to deliver an intuitive user interface. The platform allows travellers to securely shop, book and manage all aspects of their business trip directly from their mobile device.
Talking about the update, Yannis Karmis, SVP of product planning and development, said: “When we set out to build the next generation of TripSource, we knew we had the opportunity to produce some innovative new features that would offer travellers an even better user experience every step of the way, before, during and after their trip.
“With over one million travellers using TripSource, the goal was to reimagine the app experience. BCD Travel says it engaged the help of a design and usability firm to develop the latest version. The project took several months of research, design and development and has been released to a subset of travellers for beta testing, which the Travel Management Company: An agency which manages business travel for a company. says has yielded positive feedback.
The new version of TripSource features the ability for travellers to self-book, cancel a trip and store receipts, along with additional support from an agent on request, as well as pre-trip planning and booking to drive users to make “smart and timely” booking decisions.
In addition, the design of the app gives travellers a linear view of trip details so they can scroll through the information in timeline order, including flight details and status updates, hotel and rental car reservations and dinner and meetings – all with inline policy reminders, phone numbers and maps.
Corporate clients also now have the option of co-branding the app with their company logo and colours, as well as the ability to customise a mobile travel policy for quick reference.
And by moving TripSource to a new development environment, BCD Travel says it can introduce new features faster and more frequently.
Earlier this year, BCD Travel added the ability to book flights via the TripSource mobile app.
The new version of the app will be made available to all travellers later this month in more than 113 countries and in five languages.
