Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts has announced the openings of six flagship properties across the US, Europe and China by 2020 to mark the roll-out of new design standards for the brand.
According to the company, each new hotel will feature flexible designs in public spaces and guest rooms to address customer demand. Select properties will offer on-demand meeting spaces in the lobby areas to offer business travellers the ability to do business at the hotel.
The flagship property for the Americas, Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia reopened in April 2019 following a refurbishment, while new openings and renovations in Paris (opening in September), Hamburg (opening in October) and London Heathrow (opening early 2020) mark the brand’s new era in Europe.
Two additional flagship properties are set to open in China by late 2019 – Shenzhen Nashan and Wuzhen.
Eric Lent, senior VP of global marketing, upscale brands, at the brand’s owner IHG, commented: “From best-in-class airport hotels to city centre business hubs, Crowne Plaza is revolutionising business and leisure travel with incredible momentum. These openings are a significant step toward our goal to be the first and definitive choice for upscale hotel stays around the world.”
Libby Escolme, VP of Crowne Plaza, added: “IHG continues to heavily invest in and innovate our growing Crowne Plaza portfolio. Our pipeline is stronger than ever, and our six new flagships will set the standard for the future of the brand. We can’t wait to welcome business and leisure travellers around the world to experience the new face of Crowne Plaza.”
