The GBTA has appointed two new members to the strategic advisory board of WINiT, a group dedicated to advancing women in travel-related industries.

Alison Taylor, SVP of global sales and distribution at American Airlines, and Patricia Huska, chief people officer at American Express Global Business Travel, have joined the board, which will be hosting its inaugural WINiT Gala in New York City on 7 November.

In addition, the GBTA will be holding the WINiT Gala 2019 Awards, which have been set up to recognise the women, men and companies who are driving change for the career mobility of women in travel.

The association acquired WINiT in 2018.

The advisory board consists of 22 members, including chair Dorothy Dowling, SVP and CMO of Best Western Hotels & Resorts, and vice chair Michelle ‘Mick’ Lee, founder of WINiTforWomen and MD, global head of general and shared services at BNY Mellon.

GBTA executive director and COO Scott Solombrino, who is also a WINiT board member, commented: “GBTA is committed to supporting diversity and inclusion in the travel industry through meaningful educational programming, networking and recognition opportunities that are focused on the career advancement of women.”;
