Liverpool John Lennon airport has grounded all flights until further notice after a private jet skid off the runway early Wednesday morning.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, a spokesman for the airport confirmed that the jet – which had three crew members and one passenger on board – came off the runway into grass. There were no injuries and the cause of the incident is not known.
The spokesperson added the position of where the aircraft stopped forced the airport to close the runway and cancel all flights.
The airport expects the runway to remain closed until at least this afternoon. Passengers are advised to check with their airline on the status of their flight before travelling to the airport.
