The Luxury Collection, a brand of Marriott International, has opened its first property in the English countryside, with the Langley in Buckinghamshire now receiving guests.
The Langley offers 41 bedrooms spread across two buildings – the historic former hunting lodge of the third Duke of Marlborough and the adjacent Grade II-listed 18th-century Brew House. It is now opened following a six-year, multi-million-pound renovation.
Built between 1756 and 1760, the main Langley Park House is a Palladian mansion situated within landscaped gardens, with historic features of the building maintained during the refurbishment.
Rooms at the Langley include the exclusive Duke of Marlborough suite, which offers three bedrooms set around an octagonal central room.
Meanwhile, the Brew House is located next to the Main House and has previously acted as a stable, clock tower and brewery.
In addition to the Langley Spa and a gym, the hotel features seven event spaces including the Winter Garden, which provides a private terrace area with space for up to 120 people. In total, the property offers 3,336 sqft of event space.
Diners can find dishes using seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients at the Cedar restaurant, while the Drawing Room serves afternoon tea and light bights. The Churchill Bar serves cocktails and a collection of cigars and cognacs. A wrap-around terrace allows for al fresco dining in the warmer months.
Jenni Benzaquen, VP of luxury brands – Europe for Marriott International, said: “Set amidst a former royal hunting ground, the Langley, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Buckinghamshire seamlessly blends historic country manor grandeur with modern convenience. The Langley joins a strong portfolio of three other Luxury Collection Hotels in England, all of which are located in London, and together they offer our guests the opportunity to explore the best of both the city and the countryside.”
Khalid Affara, developer of the hotel, added: “The restoration of the Langley has been an incredible process involving large teams of experts painstakingly regenerating this magnificent historic building to its former glory. The whole estate is steeped in such rich history and heritage, so we are thrilled to finally open the doors to a truly unique property that successfully celebrates the Langley’s past whilst offering contemporary luxury and design alongside outstanding dining and cutting-edge spa and gym facilities.”
