Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) has added the ability for corporate travelers to input their loyalty programme number when booking rooms through the GDSs.

Following the launch of its new bookings product geared towards corporates, the group has now made it possible for travellers to include their My Millennium membership number when making a reservation through a GDS, allowing them to earn loyalty points.

In addition, MHR will now award corporate bookings with My Millennium points when travel agents make reservations on their customers’ behalf and update My Millennium membership numbers on the respective GDSs.

Saurabh Prakash, group VP, digital marketing, loyalty and distribution, said: “We have long-standing relationships with our TMC partners and we wanted to provide this enhancement as a step to further strengthen our partnership and grow the share of corporate business by awarding loyalty benefits through this channel.”

MHR said adding enhanced loyalty capabilities for corporate customers is a step towards its goal to further grow its market share in business travel. The group said its sales team will engage with procurement contacts in their corporate accounts to support agreed rates and programmes. In addition, supplier relations contacts at the company’s TMC partners will be updated of the ability to add membership numbers to ensure all teams are aware of the changes.
