IATA has announced that Claudia Adams, travel manager at Allianz, has been appointed as the new chair of its European Travel Manager Advisory Group (TMAG).

The news comes as inaugural chair Jens Liltorp, global category manager for travel and meetings at LEO Pharma, stands down after four years in the role.

Adams will lead IATA’s engagement with the corporate travel manager community as the organisation continues to develop NDC. She will be tasked with ensuring the TMAG remains focused on supporting the initiative in the shape of the needs of buyers.

Announcing the change on LinkedIn, Yanik Hoyles, director of the NDC programme at IATA, said: “Thanks to Jens for leading our efforts until now and welcome to Claudia for the next stage in our market engagement in Europe.”

IATA announced at the recent Business Travel Association (BTA) Overseas Conference that the organisation aims to phase out the term ‘NDC’ in favour of “orders and offers” as more airlines adopt the standard for distribution.
