Radisson Hotel Group has launched its new Radisson Meetings product, which was developed around the goal to offer carbon neutral meetings through offsetting.
The product is available across the group’s seven hotel brands, with the company saying it is based on three core elements – Personal, Professional and Memorable.
Radisson Hotel Group says meetings and events play an “important role” in its five-year plan.
Eric De Neef, the group’s executive vice president and global chief commercial officer, commented: “Radisson Meetings represents our commitment to deliver a personal, professional and memorable service to our guests and to respond to changing market trends and expectations. We are investing in our meeting venues at our 1,100-plus hotels worldwide, in training of our teams and in technology. A state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and distribution platform are core elements helping us to deliver our brand promise. Finally, all Radisson Meetings are carbon neutral – we are the only hotel group worldwide to automatically offset any carbon footprint at no cost to our customers.”
Clients making use of Radisson Meetings will receive the support of a dedicated point of contact throughout the planning process, as well as on-site, on-demand help “at the touch of a button” during the event.
All meetings are made carbon neutral through an offsetting programme with partner First Climate. For each meeting, the carbon footprint is calculated and then offset through projects designed to combat climate change and that have a sustainable development contribution in Peru, Kenya and India. All programmes are Gold Standard or Verified Carbon Standard certified.
Furthermore, Radisson Meetings aims to minimise food waste and eliminate single-use plastics.
In addition, members of the Radisson Rewards for Business loyalty programme for event planners can earn points towards rewards for all bookings at the group’s brands.
The news comes after the former group Carlson Rezidor rebranded itself in 2018.
